TEN TIGERS - TEN STATE REPRESENTATIVES
Link
They were Boulder Tigers. They were Western Australian State representatives. And they achieved both honours while wearing the Black and Gold of the Boulder City Football Club. Imagine it. One week, playing football on Boulder Oval. The next, pulling on the Black Swan guernsey to represent Western Australia against the finest footballers from across the country. These ten men were part of a remarkable chapter in Boulder City's history. From Alec Robinson in 1908 to Dick Bliss in 1911, and through the other pioneers whose achievements have been rediscovered, their stories take us back to an era when Goldfields footballers helped shape the development of the game in Western Australia. More than a century later, their names, achievements and contributions are being brought together and preserved for future generations.
Of course, these were not the only Tigers to achieve State honours. Many other outstanding footballers represented Western Australia before joining Boulder, while others progressed from the Tigers to higher levels of football and subsequently earned State selection.
But this collection celebrates a particular distinction: ten footballers selected to represent Western Australia while they were playing for Boulder City. Their stories remind us of something extraordinary. Boulder wasn't simply watching football history unfold. Boulder was helping create it. Explore all ten stories in the Tigers Digital Museum and discover the men who carried their Goldfields football heritage onto the State stage.
