DICK BLISS

Not every early Tiger left behind a photograph. But some left something greater — a reputation. Dick Bliss was remembered as one of the toughest and most respected footballers to emerge from the Goldfields.

Wearing the colours of the Boulder City Football Club, Bliss earned selection to represent Western Australia in 1911, joining an extraordinary era of Tigers who proved country football could stand with the best in Australia.

He played 2 State matches for the Black Swan — a reward for his courage, determination and football ability. 

More than a century later, his image may be lost… but his achievement remains.
