Some awards are about what happens on the football field. This one is about everything that happens around it. Brenton Marr has already created an extraordinary chapter in Boulder City Football Club history.
As coach of the Tigers Reserves, he has guided his teams to three consecutive premierships:
2023 • 2024 • 2025
And now, in the club’s 130th year, Brenton and his Reserves are heading back to the Grand Final with the opportunity to do something remarkable. FOUR IN A ROW.
But that’s a story for Grand Final day.
This story is about Brenton Marr the volunteer.
Coach.
Committee member.
Mentor.
Clubman.
Family man.
It’s about the countless hours behind the scenes.
The planning, the phone calls and the conversations.
Helping players through the difficult weeks as well as celebrating the good ones.
Taking on responsibilities because somebody has to.
And continuing to turn up for the Boulder City Football Club, year after year.
The premierships tell us Brenton can coach.
This award tells us something about the man.
His contribution is measured not simply in wins and premiership cups, but in the people he has influenced, the standards he has helped establish and the culture he continues to build at Tigerland. So before another Grand Final arrives — and before we discover whether an extraordinary piece of Boulder history is about to be written — there is already something worth celebrating.
