A Premiership Built on Determination

Round 1

Boulder City 2.6 (18) defeated White Feather 0.2 (2)

The opening match of the season saw Boulder City begin confidently despite heavy, dusty conditions on the newly improved Recreation Ground. The team’s superior fitness and organisation proved decisive, with Sloan and Sumpter kicking the opening goals of the season.

Mid-Season Classic

Boulder City 2.11 (23) defeated Hannans 2.3 (15)

One of the finest matches of the season saw Boulder recover from an early deficit through disciplined teamwork and relentless pressure. Arthur Williams, Oscar Hyman and John Metherall inspired the comeback as Boulder wore down Hannans during the second half.

The One That Got Away

Hannans 4.7 (31) defeated Boulder City 1.6 (12)

On a rain-soaked Recreation Ground, Hannans handed Boulder its only major setback of the season. McIntyre and Mitchell starred for the winners, while John Metherall was widely regarded as Boulder’s best player despite the defeat.

Premiership Test

Boulder City 6.9 (45) defeated Cementers 2.13 (25)

The first meeting between the competition heavyweights attracted more than 5,000 spectators. Although the final margin appeared comfortable, the match was fiercely contested. Boulder adapted far better to the heavy surface and finished strongly.

Another Thriller

Boulder City 4.8 (32) defeated Hannans 4.6 (30)

Played before a large crowd, this contest was level entering the final quarter before Boulder edged clear in a thrilling finish. Tyson and McIntyre starred for Hannans, while Williams, Charnley, Jennings and Leckie led Boulder home.

The Premiership Decider

Boulder City 9.7 (61) defeated Cementers 2.9 (21)

The biggest football crowd yet assembled on the Goldfields witnessed Boulder City’s greatest performance of the season.

With the premiership at stake, Boulder overwhelmed the highly fancied Cementers through superior teamwork, fitness and discipline.
