SANDOVER MEDALISTS
From the Goldfields to WA Football's Highest Honour
The Boulder City Football Club has a remarkable connection to some of the finest footballers to grace the Western Australian game. Five players associated with the Tigers went on to earn football's most prestigious individual honour in the WAFL — the Sandover Medal.
-
Jack Rocchi (1928)
-
Lindsay “Blue” Richards (1931)
-
George Krepp (1935)
-
Gordon “Sonny” Maffina (1949)
-
Stephen Michael (1980 and 1981) each etched their names into WA football history.
Their achievements span more than half a century, from the rugged football grounds of the early Goldfields to the grand stages of the WAFL. While their journeys and connections to Boulder differed, they share a place in the Tigers' extraordinary football heritage. Five footballers. Six Sandover Medals.
One proud connection to the Black and Gold.
