JOHN 'HERBERT' BAKER

John Herbert Baker earned that honour in 1911, selected from the Boulder City Football Club to represent Western Australia at interstate level — proof again that the Goldfields competition was producing footballers of the highest quality.
Playing for the mighty Tigers in the Goldfields National Football League, Baker became one of the few players to progress from the red dirt of Boulder onto the state stage. To pull on the Black Swan while representing a regional club more than a century ago was no small achievement.
