ARTHUR “POM” HOLLAND

A Life in Football, Work and Mateship - Boulder Tigers Digital Museum | Our People • Our Stories

Some football stories are measured in premierships, medals and matches played. Others are remembered through the people, the friendships and the communities that shaped them. Arthur “Pom” Holland’s story belongs to that second tradition.

Through the wonderful writing of Les Everett, we are taken back to a different era of Goldfields life — a time when football, hard work, family and mateship were woven into the fabric of the community. Pom’s journey offers more than a glimpse into one man's life. It captures something of the character and spirit of the people who helped shape the Boulder City Football Club and the Goldfields community around it.

Bringing Pom’s Story to Life

With Les Everett’s original account as our foundation, we have brought together a series of illustrated story panels, historical imagery and visual interpretations to help readers experience the people, places and moments of Pom’s remarkable journey.

The original words remain at the heart of this presentation. Our aim is simply to give them another home, preserving the story for today's readers and future generations of Tigers.

Our sincere thanks to Les Everett for allowing us to share his work and help keep this wonderful piece of Goldfields history alive.
