The 1920 season marked another important step in the evolution of the Club jumper. Gone were the familiar horizontal hoops that had served the club so well through the early years. In their place came a bold new design—a black guernsey featuring a striking amber V and matching chest band. Instantly recognisable.

It was a  departure from previous jumpers and reflected a football club that was continuing to evolve both on and off the field. The clean lines and contrasting colours gave Boulder a distinctive appearance that stood out. The V would become one of Australian football's most enduring jumper designs, symbolising strength, pride and determination. While this design would eventually give way to other styles over the decades, it remains one of the club's most elegant and memorable guernseys. Every change in the Tiger story has been built on tradition rather than replacing it.
