1995

Mitchell Medal

GFL-F&B.027.jpeg

Some players leave their mark on a football club. Others help define an era. Brad George belongs firmly in the second category.

A six-time Goldfields premiership player, Brad was a driving force behind one of the most successful periods in Boulder Football Club history, playing in five premierships with the Tigers. His outstanding consistency was recognised with back-to-back Boulder Club Fairest & Best awards in 1990 and 1991 before reaching the pinnacle of individual achievement by claiming the 1995 Goldfields Football League Mitchell Medal.

His contribution to the Tigers extended well beyond his playing days. A Boulder Life Member and Goldfields Football League Honorary Member, Brad answered the club's call on numerous occasions as Senior Coach, including leading the rebuilding of the Tigers after the difficult 2013 season. Under his guidance, Boulder returned to finals football in consecutive seasons, restoring belief and competitiveness to the club. Brad George's legacy is measured not only by medals and premierships, but by decades of unwavering commitment to the Black and Gold.

For one outstanding season in 1995, he was judged the fairest and best player in Goldfields football.
