Last Man Standing
Click here to get tthe results from Round 7 of the Last Man Standing.  From 49 starters, we are now down to 11 with a few willing to take their chances this week. As predicted, Melbourne would get a win but in the wrong week for this competition as one only person had chosen Fremantle. We'll have to wait for another upset to lose some more.

Bladder Busters
The first official social function of the 2008 season was held at the Boulder Footy Club Rooms on Friday the 18th April. It was called the Bladder Buster…and bladder buster it was. With 18 people daring enough to join the competition it kicked off at a fast pace, rules of play to drink a beer every five minutes and once your bladder gave in, you were out.  The first victim was Woosha, not very conspicuous in his hobble to the toilet, he was thwarted…closely followed by newcomer Chad Broughton.  With a few down the stigma was over and they began to capitulate one by one. At the 20 middies mark there were three left - Hooksy, Stan and Rangas.  What proceeded can only be described as total madness. Haysey was on a mission to literally bust a bladder with numerous well aimed shots to Stan’s stomach…Hooksy was having a great deal of difficulty sitting upright on the stool and Rangas was propped at the bar slamming them down.  Hooksy gave in to the urge leaving only two men standing. Rangas and Stan bonded over a simultaneous technicolour yawn into the bin and then declared a draw with a ceremonious emptying of bladders (thankfully not into the bin!). And so it was a draw!

Big mentions must go out to Gutsy…coming in at a commendable 4th position (though still unknown if he was wearing his son’s nappy and if he really was responsible for the puddle caused by the “leaking tap”).  Rangas for still being vertical at 4am in the morning, Buffy for keeping tally of the night’s proceedings, the beer wenches and Ash for pouring the gold liquid and Stanley’s knee for collecting all of the fluid that should have been in his bladder!!!

Fun night had by all : )

Colts get Back-to-back flags
Congratulations to Ray Collis and his colts for winning yesterday's grand final and better still going back-to-back which is not easy to achieve. Thanks must also go to Parrot for all the work he put in during the year - it's a shame he couldn't be here to see the boys triumph. There were many other contributors throughout the year and on the day who should be acknowledged also for their untiring assistance when it's needed.

3 July 2007
Breast Cancer fundraiser
The Committee would like to express thanks to all donors and attendees from both the Kambalda and Boulder City Football Clubs at the recent fundraising luncheon to raise funds for breast cancer.

Final figures are not confirmed yet, however preliminary reports are that about $1,450 was raised and all of this will be sent to the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA. Fifty six people enjoyed a luncheon which the hard working Social Committee put on at $10/head. Others donated money by purchasing the wrist bands and other marketing paraphernalia and many others donated cash in the collection tins.

Thank you to everyone for their support of this very worthwhile cause.
